“I can see…”

Ritual Phrase
I can see…
Use
Spend awareness to move a looming question closer to resolution.
Available
After something happens in the story.

Use this ritual phrase to recognize movement towards the resolution of a looming question. You should complete the phrase by indicating which question, and which answer to that question, you mean to recognize. For example, if the community has the looming question, “How can we make amends to the deer?” one of the answers might say, “We must offer up the killer.” If you have a scene in which the wizard tries to negotiate with the deer in the other world and offers alternative solutions, but the deer shoot down each one, then you could recognize this development by saying, “I can see that we will need to offer the killer up to the deer if we hope to make amends with them.” You’ll spend a moment of awareness to power this ritual phrase, but rather than going to the place, it will go to the answer, “We must offer up the killer” on the looming question, “How can we make amends to the deer?”
