Creating a Place
If you’ve played a place in this community’s territory before, you can reprise that role once again, or you can choose a different place in the same territory.
Close your eyes and go to that place in your mind. Think of what you see there, what you hear, what you smell. How do you feel? Listen closely to it, until you can hear the story it has to tell. In this, you’ll hear the spirit of the place. Hold onto that. Heed it.
If someone else has played this place before, hen has already established what people have to do to collect awareness there. Compare it to your own feelings about the place, and try first to consider the ways in which it truly captures the place’s spirit. If you can’t find any way to reconcile it, try asking the spirit of the place why it presented itself so differently to the last person who played it. If you find a way to understand it, use it. Reflect it through your own understanding of the place, certainly, but hold onto that criterion and keep using it.
If no one has played this place before, then you’ll set down the criterion someone will have to meet before hen can collect your awareness. This should reflect the spirit of the place — when a human being acts in accord with that spirit, and sees the world as it does, then hen should share in the place’s awareness and have the opportunity to receive the gifts it has to offer. Write it down.
