Village

#Village

A Fifth World family that cultivates their food will live in a village. A village consists of perhaps 50 to no more than 150 people, most from the same or a few extended families. More settled than a hunter-gatherer band’s hunting camp but less permanent than modern-day towns, villages generally belong to families living on the extreme end of social complexity in the Fifth World.

Families that live in villages generally have two or more village sites that they alternate between over a period of generations, in order to let the land around each site lay fallow and recover.
